Fender 25R Repair & Mod
I love these solid state amps! Great for small gigs or home jams and for only $100!
Replacing the stock speaker with one from Warehouse Guitar Speakers can be a surprising improvement.
Many of them have bad input jacks, and are a little noisy, like this one. So I replaced the input jack, the op amps with sockets and NE5532s to quiet the hiss, modified the gain stage with a Tube Screamer op amp, and tweaked the led clipping feedback loop to match.
Now it has a great lead channel with a mini diy foot switch!
And, of course, red knobs to make it sound even better... 😉
